Welcome to Money Mindful

“A wise person should have money in their head, but not in their heart.” – Jonathan Swift

Welcome to Money Mindful, where you can acquire financial advice that will hopefully change the way you think about money. There’s a wealth of information out there telling you what you should do about your money, but I say let’s start from the top – your mind.

Numerous studies have consistently proven how powerful the mind is. Time Magazine featured a Harvard Medical School research (Time article “The Brain: How the Brain Rewires Itself” http://content.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1580438-1,00.html), which concluded that thoughts can change the structure of the brain.

In this study, two groups of people had to learn to play the same set of piano scales. Group 1 practised on an actual piano, while Group 2 merely had to think about and imagine themselves playing the same scales, never touching an actual piano. The astounding results? The brain scans of both groups showed growth in the region of the brain corresponding to piano-playing finger movement.

If your brain is capable of rewiring itself, could it be possible that if you change your thoughts, you can eventually change your life?

Think about what you think about, specifically how you think about money…

Are you conscious about your current lifestyle, meaning your expenses, bills or debts, and how these affect your future, especially your goals? Because they do.

Do you have a plan in the event you are unable to earn an income? Because it can happen to anyone, anytime.

Have you considered the full extent of the financial needs of the people who depend on you? Because you do care about them after all.

Whether these thoughts keep you up at night, or it’s the first time these questions have crossed your mind, you are now at the right place, at the starting point of your financial journey, and here’s what Money Mindful has to offer:
